
Projects Undertaken so far:
- Worked with 20 Traditional Leaders to support a comprehensive in HIV and AIDS awareness
- Trained 45 Peer Educators in HIV and AIDS awareness
- Supported 15 community awareness meeting to address local solutions to stem the spread of HIV/AIDS in rural lundazi with the focus on access to treatment, correct and consistent use of condoms, stigma and discrimination.
- Trained high risk groups – 23 fishermen and 44 small scale miners
- Recruitment of 1260 orphans and vulnerable children who are desperately in need of support OVC for support
- Mobilized 17 widows to initiate an awareness campaign on gender and development issues with a focus on HIV/AIDS, labor and education for girls.
- Conducted 11 HIV and AIDS community awareness rallies reaching about 4500 people
- Recruited 1260 OVC for support with their education.
- Development of website with the support of international volunteers
- Health Care Awareness on water and sanitation- 7 awareness meetings on the use of clean and safe drinking water were conducted.
- Needs assessments on water and sanitation (report available on request)
- 6 new pit latrines constructed with 17 others renovated to serve mainly children at local community schools
- 300 children have received pencils books and other educational materials.
- Increased our accountability and reporting mechanisms to help enhance partnerships with friends and donors-A financial reporting mechanism has been developed.
