RFDP welcomes our new volunteer, John Fuhrman
July,02,2008
After jumping from country to country over the past few years, John has seen that some people don't have doctors, and he wants to do something about that. He plans to become a physician to serve those who have none. After reading about Rising Fountains on the web and talking with the director, going to Zambia sounded like a good idea. He flew over and headed for Lundazi to help RFDP with their programs that assist the rural poor. During these three months and beyond, he hopes to contribute under RFDP's guidance and local expertise while scouting out possible places to work in the future.
Work at RFDP: HIV/AIDS program development, grant proposal writing, whatever else he can help with
Reason for Volunteering: John thinks that improving a sick person's state of health is a very worthy undertaking. RFDP works in this area, and John wants to learn from those assisted, learn from RFDP, and lend a hand where he can.
