Budget: $25,000 Amt Raised $ 0 Balance: $ 25,000
Objective:
Two thirds of the children in rural Lundazi do not go to school. Families face the cruel choice of choosing boys over girls to attend community schools due to luck of money to buy basic school supplies. Yet, every child has the right to an education! This project will help enhance school enrollment for children and youths with particular focus on girls. It is expected that 520 children will be placed in basic school (primary school) with school supplies (uniforms/books/pencils and other indirect costs). The project will also improve the quality education by attracting qualified teachers to work in rural areas through improved accommodation (the project will rehabilitate 4 teachers houses).

3. Project Name: HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment
Objective:
Nothing is more fundamental to human happiness than good health. Yet across the world millions of people have no access to healthcare services and millions more live under conditions that put their health at risk.
The objective of RFDP is to combat HIV/AIDS and opportunistic infections and improve access to health care through training local communities in HIV/AIDS prevention and care and primary health care and working in partnership with the Ministry of Health to improve access to Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) and Antiretroviral Treatment (ART).
HIV/AIDS awareness and issues relating to primary health care have been at the centre of RFDP Health Programmes in Zambia.
RFDP Initiatives under HIV/AIDS and Health programs include;
- Awareness & sensitization meetings within the communities about HIV/AIDS, TB transmission, testing and treatment support
- We provide access to Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) to people in Lundazi district.
- RFDP provide Home base Care to the chronically ill people in the district
- Provide care and Treatment support to people on ART.
- Distribution of IEC materials
- Awareness and sensitization on the importance of ART.
Rising Fountains Development Program also provide access to information on referrals for the chronically ill and the sick. We work with the local chiefs to provide a forum for communities to come and learn more about HIV/AIDS and how to access support locally and at district level. In 2004, environmentally related diseases, like diarrhea and malaria, claimed approximately 5 million lives, and caused many millions more people to suffer long and debilitating periods of illness or injury.
Poor health can be a product and a cause of poverty, as people are unable to work, attend school, or care for their families.

4. Project Name: Livelihoods-(Agriculture/Micro Credit)
Budget: $45,000 Amt Raised $ 0 Balance: $ 45,000
Objective:
This project will help families recover from extreme poverty by helping them restore back their assets (animals and farm products) that they depended upon for food or income. The program will provide livestock and inputs to 220 local families to help them sustain their livelihoods. The project will also train local communities on savings-When people learn how to save-they can invest and sustain themselves in the future-The project will provide small loans to Local Saving Groups (LSC), These groups will comprise of 10 members (max) and five members (min). Each member group will lend money to one individual in the group who will return to the group with a small interest. In that way, people will be trained how to save money and at the same time, for those who receive the group savings, they can use the money also to start a small scale business to help them pay back and at the same time improve their livelihoods at home. The project will also provide training on environmental protection particularly on soil conservation (tree cutting) and alternate source of energy such as solar panels. It is anticipated that the project will entire 10 solar panels at a local clinic to reduce the use of wood for fire (cooking and heating).

5. Project Name: Organizational Development
Budget: $45,000 Amt Raised $12,000 Balance: $ 33,000
Objective:
RFDP measures it’s success by the change it makes in the lives of communities in rural areas of Zambia .If we are able to visit and distribute school books and materials to help children go to school, that is success on our part. If we are able to help families restore their livelihood that is also success! We can only do what we have promised to do only if we have an effective and efficient organizational environment-The project desperately needs a reliable transportation-We need to purchase a new 4x4 vehicle to help us distribute inputs and resources to our projects deep in the rural areas. In addition, we need to hire full time staff to help us monitor the projects professionally and be accountable to our friends and donors-This project will hire a qualified accountant to help us account for every penny that you give us.
